OCEAN LULLABY

Laura Kvasnosky wrote a beautiful sleepy time poem, inspired by a family sing-a-long at the beach.  She finished her sketches and gouache resist paintings for Ocean Lullaby and I colored them in Photoshop.  Released by Philomel Books in May, 2021.  Selected for several years by Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

SQUEAK!

In this story, a mouse’s squeak sets off a chain reaction that wakes all the animals in the surrounding meadows and mountains. My sister Laura wrote the book. We illustrated it together.  She painted the illustrations in black and white gouache resist in Seattle, scanned and sent them to me.  I then colored them digitally in Photoshop, as we did for Little Wolf’s First Howling.  Gotta love the internet!

Squeak! has gotten starred reviews from School Library Journal and ALA Booklist!  It was also chosen by Dolly Parton's Imagination Library as a selection for three year olds.

​LITTLE WOLF'S FIRST HOWLING

Little Wolf's First Howling is meeting critical success since it's publication in April, 2017.  Written by Laura McGee Kvasnosky and illustrated by Laura and Me!  The book has been well received with three starred reviews:
ALA Booklist, School Library Journal and Kirkus.
Laura was awarded the Margaret Wise Brown Honor Book for the text. Little Wolf also was awarded the first Redbud Award by Oklahoma students and was a finalist for the 2018 Washington State Book Award in the Picture Books category.  ​Published by Candlewick Press, Boston, MA
